Houkago Princess: 2014

On January 10th it was announced that Yamakawa Risa had been Dismissed from Houkago Princess for violating her contract. Her official Dismissal took place on January 8th, after it had been found that a day after her suspension to treat her injured foot, Risa had been seen meeting with more than one fan.

 

On January 12th, Michishige Saho had been promoted from a Candidate to an Apprentice.

 

On January 27th, an announcement was made that Sakurai Riho's contract with Houkago Princess had been terminated as it had been found that she had broken contract, and had a boyfriend. The discovery was made when a private Twitter account under what is assumed her real name had been found. Both her blog and Twitter accounts were closed, however Riho continued to represent Houkago Princess in the Young GanGan magazine Gravure contest until February-March.

On February 2nd, it was announced that Kawamura Shiori was the newest member of Houkago Princess and a part of the 6th generation as a Candidate. After her addition, Houkago Princess held auditions for the 6th generation.

 

On February 15th, 13 days after being revealed as Houkago Princesses newest member, Kawamura Shiori withdrew from the group for personal reasons.

On February 16th, Fukuhara Kyoka announced that she would be leaving Houkago Princess. She explained that her reason for suddenly choosing to leave was due to family circumstances, and that ever since postponing her activites back in 2013, these circumstances had worsened substantially. After thinking over her leave for a while, she had chosen to graduate from Houkago Princess. On February 27th, Kyoka  held her graduation ceremony at Shibuya TSUTAYA O-EAST.

 

Early in March, both Sakuragi Nene and Hayamizu Rin confirmed that they would both participate in a periodic stage play titled Hana yo... Chou yo... which would run from April 13th until April 19th. From March 24th, Sakuragi Nene had resumed activities within Houkago Princess once again after finishing her University exams.

 

Around this time, Shiraishi Rika had returned to the Entertainment Industry briefly in order to audition for Arc Jewel, who were creating a new Doll group. The audition process for this group was unique in that it allowed fans to vote for which members made it into the new group, with the Top 5 becoming the new members. Rika did not make it into the group, however.

On April 18th it was announced that Hayamizu Rin would be suspending her activities from Houkago Princess immediately due to poor health. On April 20th, Rin then announced her Graduation from Houkago Princess, in order to pursue a career in stage acting.

 

On April 27th it was announced that Houkago Princess would release their first Live DVD titled Houkago Princess LIVE@Shibuya O-EAST ~Seito Kaichou. Odagiri Nana seitan oneman 2014~.

 

On May 14th at Shibuya Duo, Maika, a former member of the group Power Age, had joined Houkago Princess as a 6th generation Candidate. With a week, Maika advanced and became an Apprentice member.

 

On May 22nd, Hayamizu Rin held her Graduation ceremony and last performance with Houkago Princess.

 

On June 21st, Sirosaki Himari was revealed as the latest 6th generation Candidate for Houkago Princess.

 

On June 24th, Miyashita Mayuka revealed that she would voice an RPG character named Amemiya Mayuka, whom had been inspired by and modeled after Mayuka, for the game KoeKara

 

On July 13th, Maika was promoted to the Regular lineup of Houkago Princess, marking her as one of the fastest member to debut in the Regular lineup in under two months.

On July 21st, Nagasawa Marina's Dismissal from Houkago Princess was announced. She had broken her contract through not returning to work after a long period of time. Marina, who had previously suspended her activities due to ill health, did not contact staff or return to work even after getting better for 2 months, therefore neglecting her duties as a member of Houkago Princess. However, despite her dismissal Marina stated through an apology on her blog that she hoped to, one day, audition for Houkago Princess again and return to the group, and to hopefully start a new, clean slate for herself as a member.

 

From late July until August, Maika participated in an Idol Karaoke contest hosted by FujiTV and represented Houkago Princess, in which she competed against various other Idols and groups. Groups such as Idoling!!!, C-ute's Okai Chisato, ManaMinoRisa and others participated. Through fan votes, Maika made it into the Finals of the contest which would be held in September that year.

 

During the month of August, Hayamizu Rin participated in the stage play Flying Pirates ~ Neverland Hyoryuki~.

 

On September 3rd, FujiTV broadcasted the Finals for their Karaoke contest. Maika came 3rd place in the contest.

 

On September 23rd, Houkago Princess released their seventh single, Manatasu no Yoru no Yume, which debuted at #3 on the Oricon charts, with its overall weekly rank sitting at #7. The single was their first to be produced with 8 different single types for purchase.

 

On September 28th, former Houkago Princess member Hayamziu Rin revealed that she joined a new Idol group, YellowCandle.

On November 15th, Sirosaki Himari was promoted to Apprentice status. On November 27th, both Maika and Himari opened their official Houkago Princess Ameblo blogs.

 

Around November 20th it was announced that Houkago Princess would release a live DVD which had been tentatively titled LIVE! LIVE! LIVE! to mark their three years as a group. The release date for the live DVD would be January 23rd, 2015, and it would be a public release.

 

On November 25th an announcement was made stating that Kizuki Saori would be collaborating with the fashion brand DOWBL alongside Idol College member Ishizuka Shio. The two would participate in web collaborations and attend live events for the brand, as well as model for it. This was Saori's first time modelling and supporting a brand.

On December 21st, former 3rd generation member Shiraishi Rika revealed that she had formed a new unit under Get-Crazy, named SAY-LA, and was compromised of Rika, Yamamoto Niina andMorikawa Yui. The group made their stage debut the day that they were announced.

 

On December 26th, Houkago Princesses up-coming live DVD had been re-titled HouPriLIVE Lesson 1 ~Live-Lived-Lived~.

 

On December 28th it was revealed that Yamaguchi Miran would serve as the new center for the new Music Video for Kojiki Shika! (2014 ver.). On the same day, Maika attended the SOLOxSOLOxSOLO event at Shibuya Glad, where various Idols including ex-Juice=Juice member Otsuka Aina performed solo songs.
