Houkago Princess LOVE

Seishun Mermaid is the third major single release from Houkago Princess, 10th overall, set to release on June 29th, 2016. The single is themed around the tale of The Little Mermaid and the love she has for a human, and will focus on the passion, courage and conflict of a girl between two worlds. The song is lead mostly by the 'Diva Voice', Maika, who incidentally loves 'The Little Mermaid' the most out of all fairy tales.

 

The single comes in 10 types, with 7 solo member jacket versions, and a Limited Cadet version. All songs included will be the same for each edition, excluding the Limited version, which will include the Music Video for Seishun Mermaid.

The coupling track, My Love Song, is Maika's first solo as a member of Houkago Princess, and tells the tale of a girl and her one-sided love for another person, and the dream she has to be with them once she is reborn.

 

Maika was chosen as the lead for Seishun Mermaid because of her exceptional voice, much like the Mermaid in the story, who is known for her beautiful singing.

This is the last single to feature 2.5th generation member, Miyashita Mayuka.

 

This will be the first single since 2012 to not feature Ayase Miho, as well as the first single release since 2014 to feature any Cadet members.

Principal photography for the single took place at Studio STELLAR RESORT for the interior and pool locations.
