Prior to joining Houkago Princess, Yamakawa Risa took part in an online Beauty Confessions website, Bijo Kokuhaku.
2013
On January 6th 2013, Risa joined Houkago Princess as a 4th generation Cadet member alongside Hayamizu Rin and Aiuchi Kohana.
On October 13th, Risa, Hayamizu Rin and Miyashita Mayuka were all promoted to the Regular member lineup.
On December 26th 2013, Risa announced that she would suspend performances with Houkago Princess until the following January, due to a fractured foot.
2014
On January 10th, the notice was made that Yamakawa Risa had been dismissed from Houkago Princess for breaching the contract. Her official dismissal had been made on January 8th, after it was found that she was contacting and meeting up with fans during her suspension period.
