Prior to joining Houkago Princess, Makihara Yuyu was a cosplayer known for her Hashimoto Kanna and Love Live's! famous character, Nico.

On March 9th 2016, Yuyu was revealed the be the newest addition to Houpriyusu.
On April 23rd 2016, Houpriyusu staff made the announcement that on May 1st 2016, Yuyu would decline her activities within Houpriyusu due to poor health, as her spinal cord disease had worsened and she had been told to stop physical activties by her doctor. Her final performance would be on April 29th.
